Nayantara is with ‘Boss Engira Baskaran’!

Earlier the grapevine was abuzz that Nayantara will be shaking her hips with Dhanush soon. When we enquired about this to the sources close to ‘Mappillai’ team and Dhanush, they just rubbished the news.

Dhanush’s circle seems to deny the news that the actor is not doing an item number with Nayantara. Looks like ‘Mappillai’ team has not approached the actress for any such offer.

On the other hand Nayantara’s close one too rubbishes the news. They claim that Nayantara is so busy with ‘Boss Engira Baskaran’ shoot that is happening in Kumbakonam. And she is gonna start the work for anew Telugu film opposite top star Balakrishna.

There are certain ways which writers follow to jazz up their creative juices. Here is a writer who seeks haven within the hotel room for penning his stories.

There are certain ways which writers follow to jazz up their creative juices. Here is a writer who seeks haven within the hotel room for penning his stories.

Farhan Akhtar prefers to work on his scripts from a posh hotel, rather than from his home or office. "Though it's true that I have a spacious bungalow in Bandra every time I need to write for my films I need my own space," quipped Farhan. He revealed that he has been booking into a hotel that is a few metres from his home, to write his dialogues, ever since his second film Lakshya. “I go in the morning, write my stuff and come home in the evening.” It helps him to focus on the task at hand and finishes work a lot faster than he can do otherwise at home or in the office.

Currently the all-rounder (actor-director-producer-singer) is working on a directorial venture of Abhinay Deo, which will be produced by Farhan. Then he will be penning dialogues for sister Zoya's next film and later the sequel of ‘Don’.

On his character of his forthcoming movie ‘Karthik Calling Karthik’, Farhan said that it was an extremely challenging role for him, as he hasn’t done any intense romantic scenes till now. “The script is very taut and gripping and the romantic track is refreshing. I play a very interesting character who changes dramatically through the film,” stated Farhan.

There are no problems with Sanjay Dutt: Akshay Kumar

Mumbai, Oct 16 (IANS) Akshay Kumar is tired of replying to queries about his so-called rivalry with 'Blue' co-star Sanjay Dutt. Setting the record straight, he says this is a figment of someone's imagination and they don't have any problems whatsoever with each other.
'Please, in this forum, let me state this for perhaps the last time ever - 'There are no problems between Sanjay Dutt and me,' Akshay told IANS.
Since the shooting of 'Blue' commenced around a year ago, there was talk of tension between the two stars.
'Yeh sab bekaar ki baatein hain (all this is ridiculous talk). People can imagine something and start writing about anything that comes to their mind. We live in times when such unnecessary gossip makes headlines.
'In fact, I went for 'Mata Ki Chowki' (prayer function) at his place. Would I have done that had there been any problems between us?' asked the actor who is currently shooting for 'Houseful'.
Akshay and Sanjay haven't worked in a film together for a long time. Their last release was director Raj N. Sippy's 'Amaanat', which had incidentally released Oct 14 in 1994. Now, after exactly 15 years, the two actors are seen again in 'Blue'.
What took them so much time to patch up?
'What patch up?' asked Akshay in an exasperated tone. 'Rani Mukerji has been around for 13 years. Her first film was 'Raja Ki Aayegi Baaraat' (1996). Still, both of us have never worked together. Does it mean that we were having a rivalry of sorts and hence would require some kind of patch-up to prove to the world that everything is fine between us?'
He is also happy to declare that Sanjay is the hero of the film and he is the villain.
'That's the fact. He is not just a hero but also has a heroine (Lara Dutta) opposite him. On the other hand, I have sharks as my leading ladies. I don't mind though. It's still better than having none at all. Remember, in 'Hera Pheri', Suniel Shetty had Tabu while I was without a heroine,' joked Akshay.
Isn't he bothered about the fact that he won't be hogging all the limelight?

'It is not always the matter of footage. It's about how far you can indeed go in the role that you get to play in the film. You can be a villain and still make an impact. I have just followed Tony's vision here. Whatever he asked me to do, I did it. If 'Blue' works (and I am positive it will), all credit goes to Tony. He has done a tremendous job.' Also starring Katrina Kaif and Kylie Minogue, 'Blue' is releasing Friday.

Not a very happy 61st birthday for Hema Malini

Mumbai, Oct 16 (IANS) With construction work going on in her house, Hema Malini has fallen ill because of the heat and dust. It isn't a very happy time for Bollywood's dream girl who brought in her 61st birthday Friday without much celebration.

'Where could I have a party or any celebration when my bungalow in Juhu is still under construction? The masons have been hammering away for one full year ever since we shifted back from our Goregaon residence to Juhu in the hope that my presence would speed up the process of construction. But no such luck,' Hema told IANS.

'Yeh log ek baar ghus jaate hain to bas jaane ka naam nahin lete (Once these people enter your house, they are not ready to go). Three of the four floors are done. But the ground floor is still under construction,' said Hema who has now taken ill because of the heat and dust in the house.'The constant dust in the house is taking its toll on my health. I've a very bad throat and a viral fever. So there was no birthday celebration. It was just me and my family.' The one bright spot this birthday is the film that Hema is producing for her daughter. 'It's something I wanted to do for a long time. And I'm finally doing it.'

We didn't pay to shift 'All The Best' release: Rohit Shetty

Mumbai, Oct 16 (IANS) Shooting down rumours he had to pay Rs.50 lakh to jump the queue of releases, director Rohit Shetty says the Diwali release slot got empty after 'Aladin' was postponed and created an an opening for his comic caper 'All The Best'.

'When 'Aladin' was postponed, we got an opening and we decided to release in Diwali. We didn't have to pay any money to advance,' Shetty told IANS.

'We never planned 'All The Best' as a Diwali product. The colourful, light, frothy ambience just happened. It's my cleanest comedy since the first 'Golmaal' film. The other 'Golmaal' had some double meanings. But 'All The Best' is totally free of risque elements,' he added.

Starring Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan, Bipasha Basu and Mugdha Godse, the film hit the screens Friday.

Shetty is all praise for Sanjay and says that the actor took keen interest in every aspect of the film.

'You can't help being protective and affectionate about Sanjay. Once he accepts a film, he adopts the whole unit. Sanjay was more like the producer of 'All The Best' than Ajay Devgn.

'In the evenings Ajay, Fardeen and the rest of the gang would be chilling out in Goa while Sanjay would sit with me poring over the next day's schedule. He was bothered about everything - from the food for the unit to my travel plans. Whenever I had to leave Goa for Mumbai, he would be anxious about my return flight,' he said.

Sanjay's character in 'All The Best' is named Dharam after the actor's business manager Dharam Oberoi.

The young director says Sanjay signs films for emotional reasons. 'And it's the director's moral duty to make sure his presence is justified. In 'All The Best', Sanjay is the main protagonist.'

'All The Best' has released with two more films - 'Blue' and 'Main Aurr Mrs. Khanna'. Shetty hopes all three Diwali releases do well.

'I certainly want 'Blue' to do very well. Its producer Asthvinayak are also the producers of my 'Golmaal' series. So their success is by proxy beneficial to my film.'

Prakash Jha’s Rajneeti shoots one actor at a time

Now if one goes by the cast list of ‘Rajneeti’, one will be looking forward to see Ajay Devgan, Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Manoj Bajpayee together on the same screen. But only the director knows the difficulty in assembling these actors for shooting. Each actor, one busier than the other, seems to be having their hands full with other projects. Ajay is busy promoting his Diwali release, ‘All The Best’, Kat-Ranbir for ‘Ajab Prem Ke Ghazab Kahani’ and Manoj Bajpayee for ‘Acid Factory’. Now besides these commitments, this cast has to report for Rajneeti’s shooting locale in Bhopal. So the buzz is about the movie’s shoot getting delayed and postponed.

Stating on his casts' call-sheet, Jha said, “My film has an ensemble cast so I have been shooting with different set of actors throughout. I don't need everyone to be present every day. When there are gaps in the shoot, they are free to pursue their other commitments.” The director dismissed the rumours regarding the schedule postponement or delays and said that everything is on course. He revealed that currently Ranbir and Katrina are shooting with him.

Nana Patekar, Arjun Rampal and Vivek Oberoi are also part of this movie.

Vivek sticks to work, braving high-fever

These days no actor wants to projects themselves as unprofessional or having starry-tantrums. The actors are taking pains to show their concern towards commitments.

Vivek Oberoi is said to be present for the final shooting schedule of his forthcoming movie, ‘Prince – Its Showtime’, even though he was not keeping well.

According to sources, Vivek was shooting at Filmistan Studio in the suburbs. Apparently, he had high fever, a stiff neck and even a bad cold. He decided against cancelling the shoot because the sets put up, were really expensive. Scrapping it or going beyond the decided dates would mean heavy losses for the makers. Not only this… The actor had even decided to live in his vanity van, instead of travelling up and down in the traffic. Now, the actor is said to have wrapped up the shoot of the movie’s song that is choreographed by Bosco-Caesar.

As Vivek had some problems with his neck, the producer Kumar Taurani felt to have a physiotherapist on standby on the sets, to be on safer side. Impressed with the actor’s commitment, Taurani said, “Vivek is a very professional guy and he has finished the entire shooting without any hassles.”

‘Prince – Its Showtime’ is directed Kookie V Gulati and has Nandana Sen in lead with Vivek.

Sallu-Aamir on a magic after 15 years

Post ‘Andaz Apna Apna’, the superstars of B-town Salman Khan and Aamir Khan have decided to come together again. If what we heard from sources is believed to be true, then both the Khans will act together in a film produced by them.

According to the buzzes, Aamir Khan will produce the film with Salman’s brother Sohail Khan as the co-producer. Earlier reports stated that both would be seen together in the sequel of Rajkumar Santoshi’s ‘Andaz Apna Apna’. But then, Mr. Perfectionist not seems to be interested with it.

Consequently, this duo is looking out for a fresh and gripping tale, with filmmaker to be finalized soon. But when approached Aamir’s closer hand, the reports were quite contrary as they uttered, “Right now, Aamir has got his hands full with 3 Idiots and three more projects and he has no time for other projects…”

Mithun, son Mimoh to act together

Here is baap-beta jodi coming! No, not the Bachchans, but the Chakrabortys! Yeah, Mithun and his son Mimoh are going to share the screens.

The father and son will be seen together in ‘Spaghetti 24 x 7’. The movie will be directed by Gaurav Pande, who had earlier worked with the Sr. Chakraborty on a Bengali film. Although Mithun is yet to officially confirm the news, his son revealed that the movie will be on floors by 15th November. As of now nothing is known about the movie’s subject.

Mimoh had stepped into the industry with Raj N Sippy’s directorial ‘Jimmy’. But sadly, the movie didn’t fare much. Whereas, Mithun’s last release ‘Luck’ too didn’t make it up in the BO. Let’s see whether the luck will favour both the actors in each other’s company.

What excited Sanju on ‘Aladin?’

To be precise, it was an easy deal for Sunjoy Ghosh as he could convince Sanjay Dutt on his first take for ‘Aladin’. The film produced by Eros International is based on the fairy tale of ‘Aladdin and Genie’. It’s something of an interesting genre that even a 4-year old kid would easily grasp.

The moment Sanjay Dutt heard the new-versioned script with grandiloquent factors embellishing it, he couldn’t stop his irresistible nature till the day of shooting.

Says a source attached to the film, "Sanju baba actually became quite childlike when narrated the concept of 'Aladin'. Indeed, he was more interested than anyone else in doing this film and got himself involved in every shot. But, he was keen on one particular thing that none should bother about his moustache.”

As a matter of fact, it was Amitabh Bacchan who insisted Sujoy Ghosh that Sanjay Dutt would be the apt person for enacting the role of Ring Master.

Hrithik Roshan signs deal with Vishal Bharadwaj

Bollywood’s hunk Hrithik Roshan has raised everyone’s hopes over his upcoming flick ‘Kites’. But this international project has been really letting down everyone’s hopes with the delayed release. The film was supposed to hit screens for Diwali and now swaps in for the release of Jan-2010 schedule.

Of course, his sweet pappa alone did showcase him on experimental roles winning out the laurels with ‘Koi Mil Gaya’ and ‘Krrish’. And now, they’re much confident about striking jackpot in box office with their hat-trick spell.

Meanwhile, the actor has signed deal for Vishal Bharadwaj’s untitled film that will go straight on the floors by June 2010. Looks like Priyanka Chopra might be roped in for starring opposite him in female lead role.

When approached Hrithik Roshan, he did not let anything out about the project and said, “We will be making official confirmations very shortly…”
