I think I was smart to marry Shahrukh, Gauri

Gauri Khan feels lucky to have Shahrukh Khan as her hubby who is so much loving and caring person and in adddition he is a star having the entire world at his feet. Gauri reveals all about their struggling days, Shahrukh's hardworking and rising to stardom. Gauri married to Shahrukh at the age of 21 when SRK was nothing and he was working hard to create a niche in Bollywood.

Speaking about their meeting, Gauri said, “Yes he was the first person I met and went out with and he has been the only man.”

She further adds, “He was always ambitious from his very childhood in his school in his college he has always been on top. Whether it was as a student; football, hockey, his theatre anything, for me whatever he would touch would be gold. I think I was smart to marry him. I think that’s my smartness that I chose the right guy".

Speaking about their struggling period, Gauri replied, “It’s been an amazing journey I would say. When I came to Bombay it was very difficult I enjoyed every bit of it but it was so new and life was very different new people and new home. But we went back very often to Delhi in the beginning.”

Gauri remembers how silly she was when she changed Shahrukh’s name to ‘Abhinav’ so that her parents feel he was a Hindu boy.

Asin, Dhoni in Big Bazaar ad

Asin and MS Dhoni both hailed from two different professions but both are successful in their respective field and endorsers feel they are the right choice for their brand. Big Bazaar which is a chain of hypermarkets in India has roped in the young and the energetic couple to endorse their market. They chose Asin and Dhoni to endorse Big Bazaar as they are the youth icon of India and doing extremely well in their individual field.

If Asin has win over the hearts of millions with her simple girl role in ‘Ghajini’ then Dhoni has also proved himself a successful captain and cricketer. According to a source, Asin has signed the ad with highest amount she has endorsed so far.

The photo shoot took place in Mumbai a month back but the ad will be aired after Dhoni returns from his successful tour of New Zealand. Asin today is a brand name and she has many promising product in her kitty thereby giving tough competition to the established stars of Bollywood.

Her Mirinda ad is a hit and now she will be Aamir’s lady for the Tata Sky ad by replacing Gul panag.

Shahid and Priyanka are lovers

Now it is clear that Shahid Kapur and Priyanka Chopra are in love. The duo has stopped playing the hide and seek game and they about to make their love official. In the presence of several guests at Karim Morani's 50th birthday party (held at his Juhu bungalow), Shahid and Priyanka stick together throughout and at the end of the party, Shahid rode in Priyanka’s white Mercedes while his car followed them.

A guest at the party quips, "Priyanka walked in with a friend a bit after midnight while Shahid came in after 1 am. But during the entire time Priyanka was there, Shahid kept calling and talking to her throughout till he reached. After which, they both circulated a bit and quickly withdrew to a secluded corner where they remained, talking in hushed tones, almost till the time they had to leave around 5 am. When it was time for them to leave, Priyanka, Shahid and Priyanka's friend left together in Priyanka's white Mercedes (MH-02 BG 6345) while Shahid's driver followed behind with his silver Mercedes (MH-02 AQ 4244). While Priyanka is quite happy to show the world that she's in love with Shahid, apparently, he's not in a hurry to do it. He was hiding his face when the reporters photos were trying to take pictures."

With every passing day, the love of the duo is blossoming. Their neighbor informed that very often they go out for a walk, holding hand in hand at the mid-night when the ground is empty.

Imran to love Sonam

Both are young and sweet, undoubtedly they will make the best pair in Bollywood and will ablaze the silver screen with their hot chemistry. It is really a good idea to rope in the new Khan of the industry, Imran Khan and the Kapoor gal, Sonam Kapoor. Kunal Kohli whose last film ‘Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic’ did not work out well is about to make a film with Imran and Sonam. It will be directed by his assistant Danish Aslam.

Further the source informs, “The subject of the film is quite young and it requires a young pairing and so we are in talks with many actors and as if now we haven’t finalized anyone but Kohli is eager to take Imran and Sonam. Let’s see how the things will go on floors.”

About the film, a source tells, “The main leads of the film need to have an appeal to the youth since it’s a love story. Imran Khan was quite impressive in Jaane Tu and similarly Sonam Kapoor‘s acting was good in Delhi 6 and so the young pairing would be the perfect choice for the film.”

Really, it will be lovely to see Imran sharing screen space with Sonam.

Girls tear Purab’s clothes

Actor Purab Kohli’s rise has been nothing short of meteoric in the last few months. First it was the movie Rock On that became a youth phenomenon, then came the Rock On concerts, culminating in the Filmfare award certification for him. The “Killer Drummer’s” killer charms seem to have crossed borders and reached a crescendo last Thursday in a concert in Dubai. There to perform at the Rock On concert in Dubai, Purab mobbed by horde of girls.

The whole cast was on stage when Purab happened to venture close to the crowd while speaking on stage. All was well till he got within grabbing range of a group of girls. All hell broke loose when the girl mob pulled him in an attempt to get up close and personal. Needless to say no one expected things to turn this way, least of all Purab. It took some manhandling before he finally managed to break free and get back on stage, but not before his waistcoat tearing apart!

“I was obviously not expecting a reaction like this from the girls. This came as a complete shock. But I am not complaining” said Purab. “Show me one guy who would not be thrilled to be in my shoes, or rather, clothes in this case” trailed off Purab, laughing.

Anil Kapoor to appear in American TV

Versatile Anil Kapoor who is flying high due to the huge success of his latest film Slumdog Millionaire by Danny Boyle has got added another reason to smile. After stepping on Oscar dice with pride, he is all set to venture on American television. After starring in Slumdog, Anil came in the attention of American directors and they have signed him to play an anti-terrorist cop in a drama to be aired on American TV channel.

According to reports, Anil will team up with Canadian actor Kiefer Sutherland in the eighth season of the long-running program and he will play an Indian counter-terrorist cop.

"Anil would play Jack Bauer's counterpart in India. It's not known yet whether Anil will appear in just one episode of whether he'll be a recurring character. Either way the producers are very excited about having him onboard," said a source from the production house.

Sonam, Deepika’s cat-fight continues

They claim to be friends but they are not. Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone refuse to pose together for Vogue magazine. When they were approached to shoot together, they politely declined the offer and claimed for individual shoot.

A source tells all, "Deepika and Sonam haven't been shot together, and the magazine thinktank thought it's be a great idea to get the Saawariya and the Om Shanti Om girls in the same frame. Not just because they made their debuts at the same time, but also because they were of the same age, and are friends, as well as rivals.

The idea was to get the girls into a mock cat fight. They were asked to wear a shirt, denims and jacket and get into a fight over a boy's t-shirts. The visuals had to show them as two tom boyish girls fighting over a boy's clothes."

This is not the end, Sonam even refused to share the same platform with Deepika at the recently held Filmfare awards when she was asked to host with Deepika. Finally, Konkana joined Deepika.

However, when contacted Sonam denied the entire incident and said, "It's not true".

Bhansali cheated Salman

Actor Salman Khan and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali had a long standing association from the days of ‘Khamoshi’. Whenever the director knocks Salman’s door, he always used to be there to welcome him with open heart. But when Bhansali signed Hrithik Roshan for Hollywood remake ‘Prestige’ which was Salman’s idea, he felt cheated and destined never to work with Bhansali in future.Salman poured the idea of remaking the Hollywood flick ‘Prestige’ to Bhansali but when he came to know that Bhansali has planned the film with Hrithik, he felt embittered. Adds the source, "Sallu had agreed to be a part of Saawariya because of his old association (Khamoshi, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam) with Bhansali. Moreover, he had even taken time out to promote the film as the release date was clashing with Om Shanti Om that had Shahrukh Khan. Saawariya was a launch pad for Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor, both newbies. Yet Sallu did whatever Bhansali told him for the promotion of the film."It is learnt that Salman now feels cheated. As the source puts it, "He feels he did a huge favor to Bhansali during Saawariya and this was not at all expected from him."

No tension between Hrithik and Suzanne

Putting an end to all the speculations, Hrithik Roshan takes his wife Suzanne off to a holiday in London, accompanied by their two sons. He by standing close to his family again proved those people wrong who time and again rose up issues of their differences. His over-friendly relationship with his ‘Kites’ co-star Barbara Mori added fuel on the fire that he spends considerable amount of time with Barbara and neglecting Suzanne. One of his loyal friends defended him in the following words, “There’s no husband in Bollywood who’s more faithful to his wife than Hrithik. These rumors were started by one of his former leading ladies.” Hrithik had a very hectic period recently following his mother sickness and his busy schedule with ‘Kites’, so before he kick starts his next movie with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, he is off to London to rejuvenate himself and spend some quality time with wife and children. “Hrithik will do nothing to hurt his mother or wife,” said a source, and moreover Mori was more friendly with Sussanne than Hrithik. “They went out shopping, attended events together, and there was no sign of stress between them at all.”

Ash-Abhi’s intimate scene dropped

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan’s intimate scene in Mani Ratnam’s ‘Raavan’ may be an added advantage of the film but the director chose to edit it as the issue is very sensitive and it may hurt the sentiment of the religious people. Mani is playing safe by dropping the love-making session of Ash who plays a married woman and Abhi a kidnapper.‘Raavan’ is a modern day adaptation of the great ancient epic, ‘Ramayan’. Here’s showing Ash being kidnapped by Abhi and during their stay, Ash falls for Abhi. Confirming the news an insider said, “There was also a love-making scene between Ash and Abhishek in the script but Mani decided to do away with it after realising the sensitivity of the subject. Even though he may deny it, the fact remains that the film is a modern day adaptation of the epic, with the focus being on the Ravana-Sita chapter." The shooting of the film took place in high security as the director did not want any clippings to get leaked in the public.

On Thursday, Pretty actress Preity Zinta met the Prime Minister of New Zealand John Key and she was highly impressed with his personality and realistic attitude. In this half and hour rendezvous, Preity and John Key discussed about cricket, India and Indians. 

She couldn't stop admiring him, she said, "John Key is so young and so charming. It was a pleasure meeting him. He's extremely dynamic and so much loved by the people. So down-to-earth and so interested in India and Indians." 

"I'm surprised at how clued-in he is to happenings and developments in our country. He used to be an investment banker earlier. We talked about cricket and India. The prime minister hosted a reception for the Indian and New Zealand cricket team and a couple of dignitaries including yours truly. It was awesome. I felt so proud of our Indian cricketers wearing their jackets and all," said Preity.
